VVBs and Audit Coordination

Role of VVBs

Validation and Verification Bodies are independent third-party organizations responsible for auditing project facilities, monitoring data, life-cycle emissions, and net carbon removals under applicable standards and methodologies.

HCAP Coordination Role

HCAP may assist project participants with audit-material preparation, meeting arrangements, site-audit coordination, findings tracking, and supplementary evidence. It does not interfere with the VVB’s audit process or professional conclusions.

Relationship with Puro Certification

Projects seeking Puro certification must undergo audits by eligible VVBs in accordance with the Puro Standard and applicable methodologies. VVB eligibility, audit conclusions, Puro certification, and CORC issuance are governed by the formal requirements and records of Puro.earth and the Puro Registry.

Independence Notice

Any introduction, recommendation, or coordination of a VVB by HCAP does not constitute formal accreditation and does not guarantee successful audit, Puro certification, or CORC issuance.
