Support Process

The Himalayan Climate Action Platform (HCAP) provides full-process management and technical support for high-altitude carbon removal projects, including biochar and enhanced rock weathering. HCAP helps projects strengthen methodology applicability assessment, digital MRV, life-cycle assessment, evidence management, and certification preparation.

Projects generally proceed through the following stages:

• Initial Screening: Review the project pathway, feedstocks, facilities, sites, and available data.

• Methodology Assessment: Assess the applicable Puro Standard requirements and identify key development gaps.

• Project Design: Develop implementation plans, monitoring plans, sampling and testing arrangements, and quality controls.

• Digital MRV Development: Manage projects, batches, monitoring periods, samples, laboratory results, and life-cycle emissions data.

• LCA and Evidence Preparation: Organize evidence relating to feedstocks, production, transportation, and final use or storage.

• Certification and Audit Coordination: Support Puro application preparation and coordinate communication among project participants, VVBs, and Puro.earth.

• Ongoing Monitoring and Reporting: Support data updates, monitoring reports, and preparation for subsequent audits.

Participation in the HCAP project-support process does not indicate Puro certification, registration in the Puro Registry, or CORC issuance. Final certification, verification, and issuance status is determined by Puro.earth, the independent VVB, and the official records of the Puro Registry.
